My interest in criminal law began when I was obtaining my Bachelors degree from the University of California at Davis in 1992 where I majored in history and political science.
I graduated with my law degree from the University of San Francisco in 1997. Immediately thereafter I began working at the San Francisco Public Defenders Office where I obtained valuable courtroom experience representing dozens of individuals accused of various misdemeanor crimes.
In 1998 I moved to Sacramento, California and worked as an associate with the criminal defense law firm of Rothschild, Wishek & Sands. During that time I learned all of the nuances of being an elite criminal defense attorney and refined my skills not only in the courtroom but also learning how to successfully represent the criminally accused from the initial police investigation, through bail and arraignment proceedings, and on to preliminary hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trial.
In 2003 I began working for another highly rated Sacramento, California criminal defense law firm – Clyde Blackmon & Associates.
After 13 years of working for the aforementioned law firms and handling virtually every type of case from traffic matters, juvenile court cases, DUIs, misdemeanors, and serious felonies in numerous Northern California counties including Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, Solano, Butte, San Joaquin, Amador and Stanislaus, I opened my own law firm – the Law Office of Jonathan Turner.
